On the shoreline of the East River and with a sweeping view of the Manhattan skyline, Eagle Street Rooftop Farm is a 6,000 square foot green roof organic vegetable farm located atop a warehouse rooftop owned by Broadway Stages in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.  During New York City’s growing season, the farmers at Eagle Street Rooftop Farm supply an onsite farm market, and bicycle fresh produce to area restaurants.
With our Farm-Based Education team and training from food education organization Growing Chefs, the rooftop farm hosts a range of farm-based educational and volunteer programs. During the growing season, are open to the public on Sundays (44 Eagle Street, Greenpoint, Brooklyn) between 1pm-4pm.
During the growing season, we sell direct from the rooftop to YOU! Â Please refer to our calendar for a full listing of our open days.
Our produce can be found at Alameda, Achilles Heel, Marlow and Daughters, Rockaway Taco, Ovenly, Eastern District, Eat and Paulie Gee’s during the growing season.
Interested in joining the apprenticeship team? Great! Read this factsheet all the way through.  The apprenticeship program begins in April.
Apprenticeships are best suited for individuals looking for professional internships, horticultural experience, and a part time opportunity to work alongside all hired hands on the farm.
During the April through November growing season, internships through schools and organizations are facilitated through GrowingChefs.org. Please have your advisor or professor contact us to make arrangements.
Internships are best suited for students with early springtime/fall season commitments not suitable for the apprenticeship staff schedule. Â Internships are best suited for specific project objectives outside the apprenticeship program. Â Internships are coordinated via a school supervisor. Â Students able to make a three month commitment during their summer break, or who wish to work independently with the farm outside of their school supervisor, are welcome to apply as Apprentices.
